"When he first called me he had a vision for Berkner and he had a vision was for me to become a head coach and we thought it would be three or four years and here I am a year and a half later and my dream is reality. He first began his coaching career at Abilene Christian where he spent five seasons on staff, working with running backs and then moving to coach wide receivers. He played collegiately first at Kilgore College and then at Abilene Christian University before a brief stint in the Cleveland Browns rookie camp.
